Monday and Tuesday - Mel Amina
Wednesday and Friday - Butch Baduria
My name is Don Baduria Jr. and I was born and raised in a town called Wahiawa, Oahu. I grew up learning to play the ukulele, guitar and electric bass from the greatest mentor that I had in my Dad- Don Baduria Sr. He taught me to appreciate all genres of music which I continue to express in my repertoire today. I’ve had the pleasure of working with many local musicians over the years and performed in many venues around town, but I’ve enjoyed my time as a soloist the most right here at the Waikiki Beach Marriott.
Thursday - Keawe Ohana
Saturday - Soulbucket
Soulbucket is Darrell Aquino & Mark Caldeira. They are childhood friends who were raised on the windward side of Oahu, Maunawilli to be precise. They are seasoned veterans of the music industry.
On a quest to have fun and entertain the masses, their music is a combination of acoustic, classic, pop, rock, contemporary, Hawaiian, traditional folk, R&B, country, funk, world beat, soul alternative...kind of a schizo-eclectic mix of styles and tastes. No set list. No attitude. Yes requests are welcome and encouraged. Come on over & lets have some FUN!
Sunday - George Kuo
Their album that was recently released, “Ho’olohe”(to listen), was a final nominee at the 2004 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards (similar to the Grammy Awards for Hawaii) for the categories of: Hawaiian Album of the Year and Best Male Vocalist (Martin Pahinui) of the Year. George Kuo (6 and 12 string slack key guitar), Martin Pahinui (6 string slack key guitar), and Aaron Mahi (bass guitar) present the traditional folk art of Hawaiian slack key guitar and vocal melodies in a manner that will give the listener goose bumps on their arms and a rich happiness from their deep soulful delivery, that is projected in a language and feeling that anyone can understand and appreciate.
Their performance will feature the breathtaking intimacy of solo slack key guitar followed by a rousing trio jam session, trading spontaneous instrument solos and unique vocal harmonies, recreating the atmosphere of a Hawaiian backyard party. Each of them are highly accomplished and recognized Hawaiian musicians that have been performing together many years, for the pure enjoyment of perpetuating traditional music and reciprocating and embellishing each other’s talents, to where these feelings become instilled in all audiences.
